How are teams formed?
MYSA soccer is a recreational sport program with the focus on learning and having fun. Adults that choose to volunteer their time to coach will be selecting their teams from the list of players. We do allow siblings and friends to play together as long as that information is communicated to our director no later than the last day of registration. Following that date we will not accept requests for coaches or friends. If more than one coach requests a specific player the parent will be contacted to make the decision. If one team has to many players, the league director along with coaches will decide how to split the team members up. Please note that we attempt to keep teams together as much as possible from season to season. If we lose a coach for whatever reason that team will not stay together and the kids will be placed back on the master list for the coaches to choose from. If you wish for your child to be removed from a team for the next season we will also honor that request unless we do not have enough spots available to move your child.
NOTE: You are registering your child to play soccer, we do not issue refunds if your child is not on the team they or you wish to be on. We will honor all requests that are possible as long as they are submitted in the correct time frame and conditions as listed above.
AS IN ALL SPORTS TEAMS WILL NOT BE EVEN, THERE WILL BE TEAMS/PLAYERS THAT ARE BETTER OR NOT AS GOOD AS OTHER TEAMS/PLAYERS.
THAT IS THE REALITY OF SPORTS.
We will do our best to honor requests and accommodations for teams and coaches, but cannot make any guarantees. Age groups for U6-U12 are determined by using the US Soccer Birth Year Matrix with players aging up in the Fall season.
